After the firm handshake Rizza watched as Novick looked over their mission. She had already looked over it and was ready to head, however waited patiently as he spoke. He looked very professional as he spoke, making her straighten her posture a little to match his.
"I am Novick. The only thing you need to worry about working with me is being a drag. What we do is all official but every once in awhile the field work gives you pleasantries like exciting battles or getting a drink while tailing a potential target. Allot of the time it doesn't seem opportune but when you're out in the field you just roll with it"
“Roll with it” She muttered, nodding. As she listened and watched him, she was conflicted on her opinion of him. His words seemed like he was laid back, but his posture was more of a professional stance that demanded perfection in anything she might do.
"... and leave the intimidating to me when the time comes. You wear the logo and some people want more out of you than a Pokemon battle... It could get ugly"
Her mouth opened as if she were to argue before she changed her mind. She wanted to tell him she could be intimidating, or at least Shade and Kiva could be. Arguing with a higher rank on the first day probably wouldn't be the best of idea. Instead, she decided if the time ever came, she and her Pokemon would simply show him.
"I'll try to keep things interesting for your first time out. Should be a good time. Now... Tell me about yourself"
Clearing her throat she tries to think of anything important he should know. “At request, I left my higher level Pokemon at home. New adventures means new Pokemon, as my mom says.” She paused, criticizing how childish she probably sounded. “I have high expectations of myself. Both my parents were once in Team Rocket. As for my team, I have two Pokemon as of right now.” She finished and tried to take a calming breath. She wasn't sure what he was asking for but she decided to conclude her little blurb of information with some fact about the training. “During the training, I got top marks in most in field training exercises.”

Novick nods after hearing what Rizza had to say about herself, getting an general idea of what he'd be working with by her reactions to his introduction and the traits she chose to bring up. 'Alrighty. Well She ain't stuck up. That's a plus... I don't know if she's testing herself with her pokemon or what, but screw it... No problem backing her up if she needs it' After his internal evaluation his posture deflates into his usual relaxed slouch and nudges his head toward the door "Good to know. Now that that's out of the way lets head over to Route 44" He turns again to face to door and makes his way out of the room, assuming Rizza was following his lead "From what we know the pokemon we're observing will be hostile so have your pokemon ready, and try to cover your face since they're known for spurting out clouds of toxic dust. We should try to capture one of each pokemon that seem to stick out in terms of power, appearance or behavior. We also might witness some abnormal evolution, since Gloom evolves using Evolutionary Stones" He looks back at Rizza and smirks "Like I said, exciting first day"

"If you have a Pokemon chosen already, then by all means use it for your observational study. This is a personal decision. " The Queen gave a short nod of her head. "It is important for a Trainer to trust their gut feeling."
She seemed quite satisfied with his swift decision and was about to leave when the harried Scientist jabbed her in the arm. "Hey. Creepo. You have to choose a Starter too. It's on the list." She shoved the clipboard in the armored Professor's face.
"I do not understand. I have a full roster. I was under the impression that this was a study to help train those Grunts who passed a higher intelligence score than the others."
"Too bad for you. Boss says that you've gotta make a choice too."
" I see." She huffed, striding towards the softly glowing table. The Pokemon Queen hovered near Drew for a moment, frowning. ".. No. This does not feel right." Pacing up and down the table for a good while, she seemed stuck. It had been several years since she'd been presented with this choice, and did not want to make too swift of a commitment.
Long moments would pass before she made her choice, plucking a Pokeball from its cradle. A grimace crossed her face when a light flashed out from under her corselet. Rules were rules, and a Trainer could only have six. A member of her team had been returned to her PC. " Blasted... I believe we are done here, Finley."

Rizza watched as Novick's posture was reduced to a slouch. She couldn't help but to smile as she followed him out the door. She let her own posture relax, feeling a minute ache in her shoulders from the stance. It wasn't something she was accustom to, and was glad she wouldn't have to get used to it.
When she was told to have her Pokemon ready, Rizza touched one of the Pokeballs on her belt, sliding her fingers across it until she reached the next one. Pulling the ball off, she released the Pokemon before returning the ball to her belt. “Be on the lookout.” She whispered to the ball of gas floating a few inches away from her. His smile widened, if that was even possible, before disappearing.
When Novick spoke of her covering her face, she tried to think of everything she had in her bag. The only thing she had that might work would be a hoodie, though she wasn't sure how well it would work. 'I'll just have to make sure to avoid it.' she told herself, still following behind Novick. She hoped she had enough Pokeballs. It would be embarrassing to not have all her equipment on the first mission.
The two continued to walk out of town and towards the location of their mission. There was silence between the two for the most part, as Rizza's nerves started to get to her. Her palms started to sweat, even though the temperature was rather nice. Her heart felt as if it were winning a race, though it might explode. The first mission was important! 'What if I don't know which one is stronger or different? What if-' the list continued most of the journey towards the middle of Route 44.
All thoughts left her mind when she suddenly tripped over some large ball. Luckily, she caught herself with her hands and noticed it had been her Gastly that tripped her up. “What the-” She was cut off by the sound of something flying past her. If she had still been standing, it would have hit her chest. Looking up, she saw the source of the flying objects. An angry Bellossom continued it's magical leaf attack against the opposing Vileplume, who in turn used mega drain.
“Novick, you might wanna get down!” Rizza muttered as she called out her Houndour. “I think the waves are making them angry!” She added, noticing the group of Vileplume, Bellossom, and a few Glooms a few feet away from the two in battle.

Novick quickly reaches for his pouch and takes all three pokeballs out, sending out his team of Crobat, Weavile and Sableye. Crobat and Weavile act normally while Sableye climbs on top of Novick's head and clings to it. As they all look to their trainer, Novick quickly assesses the situation and starts giving out orders. "Crobat, cover us as we observe the fighting! If you see an attack heading for either one of us deflect it" He reaches for the top of his head and pets Sableye "Keep me covered. I'll tell you when to attack" He looks down at Weavile, who looks up at him with his tongue sticking out. With an annoyed look Novick focuses back on the fight "Weavile. Be ready to intervene at my command. I want you to Icicle Crash anyone who comes at you. If you get swarmed you have my permission to use Avalanche" With the commands issued, each pokemon get into battle ready positions as Novick approaches Rizza. He crouches to her level and offers her hand to help her up "Crobat can handle the incoming fire. While our pokemon handle riot control we need to keep an eye on the targets so we can capture pokemon if needed and report the abnormalities in the mission specs and more. When we have what we need we'll head to somewhere safe" He looks down at Rizza "You ready to get started?"

Drew nodded at his mentor and grabbed for a pokeball on the table. A glass display case then appeared from the side of the table and rose to cover it once both he and the Pokemon Queen had made their choices.
"Totodile is my choice, always wanted one since my family moved back to the Johto region when I was a kid. Unfortunately, the Professor in New Bark Town wouldn't let me choose one since I had already started my journey in Kanto, but I've never looked back since choosing Charizard as my first companion."
"Okay let's not start sharing any sentimental stories," said the lab scientist. "You two have been given an order to observe those two pokemon in the wild, see how they interact with one another, and record any 'abnormal' characteristics that we might not have picked up on." The scientist muttered the last few words under her breathe. "Now then, there are several areas around HQ that would be suitable for making your observations. There is a forested area to the west which has mostly a weak pokemon population, a lakefront to the north which has a mixture of both high and low level powered pokemon, an ice cave to the far east which has mostly high leveled pokemon, or you two could even just do observations within this town."
Drew turned to his mentor.
"I'm okay with any of those options. I left most of my strong pokemon at the New Bark Town Pokemon Lab since they all just had a long journey through the Kanto region, but I did keep Charizard with me to help in any serious situations we might find ourselves in if we go to the areas with stronger pokemon. Also, as a kid I didn't spend much time around here and have only known it since my training started as a Grunt so you're probably more familiar with it than I am. I'll leave the decision of where we go up to you, Professor."

Rizza watched as each Pokemon followed Novick's swift commands. Her eyes darted between his Pokemon and the angry mass of plants. Her mind tried to think of it's own plan, but she knew these plants were much stronger than her Pokemon. Kiva might stand a chance, if he used ember. Shade could use hypnosis on a few of them, just to keep it contained a bit.
When Novick crouched next to her, offering her his hand, she gave a sheepish smile and took it. "Thanks." This wasn't how she wanted to start off the mission, but she would show him she knew how to battle, at least. With his help, she stood and looked at the formation of his Pokemon and then to he group of battling plants. Crobat was keeping any stray attacks from hitting them. Weavile was at the ready if any Pokemon noticed them and attacked, and Sableye was covering Novick.
'Ok, Kiva can help Crobat or Weavile. Shade....' She glanced at the floating ball of gas, who still awaited directions. “Kiva, give Weavile and Crobat backup, if they need it. Don't let any of the attacks get through. Ember any enemy who tries to get through you guys!” She called out before turning her attention to Shade. The ball of gas smiled at her as she moved closer to him. “You get a special job, Shade. I need you to fly above them, and look for anything that doesn't look normal. Remember that Gloom we saw in camp? That one was normal. Find one here that looks different.” She returned the goofy evil grin that her Pokemon had, knowing he liked it. The Gastly made an almost chuckle sound before floating off higher and over the group of plant Pokemon.
Looking over to Novick, she wished she had another Pokemon to guard her as well. It was a good idea, but she didn't have time to dwell on it. Pulling her hoodie out of her bag, she had it ready for any powder or spore attacks that might stray her way. Swiftly, she walked around the guard Pokemon and closer to where a group of Glooms, who looked in distress, clustered. Glancing up as an odd shadow covered her, she noticed Shade had moved closer to her position. 'Good boy' she smiled before kneeling on one knee to look closer at the Glooms. They were in a circle like group around a few strange looking rocks, each taking a step closer then back. One, however, got too close and touched one of the rocks. Within seconds it was glowing and turned into a Bellossom. Stumbling back and making a crying like noise it slowly turned back into a Gloom. “That's the target!” She yelled and pointed to she Gloom she had been watching, before thinking about it. All the other Glooms turned towards her. “Shit, Shade, Kiva!” She called as she backed up towards the other Pokemon. “Hypnosis on the one we want, Shade!” She called glancing over her shoulder to see Kiva moving her direction.
Near Rizza: 3 (normal) Glooms (lvls 19, 19, 20) ; 1 Abnormal Gloom (lvl 24)
Battling Each other: 4 Bellossom (lvl. 21-32) v.s. 3 Vileplume (lvl. 21- 34) [HP will be down on all these since they have been fighting]

Novick looks toward the group of Gloom and quickly observes the one Rizza had pointed out. As they all glare at them, the same abnormal Gloom stumbles backward and touches one of the strange stones, turning it into a Bellosom once more. After picking itself up and moving closer to the group, it turns back into a Gloom. Now seeing the phenomena for his own eyes, Novick looks to Weavile who looks anxious to start battling "Weavile! Do not get close to the rocks! They may be some sort Sun Stones but there's no telling what it might do!" He pats his Sableye once more and points to the adjacent group "Sableye, use Dark Pulse the on the Gloom! Once they're disoriented from the attack, Weavile use your Avalanche attack and finish them off!" Before the pokemon use their attacks, Novick takes out a Great Ball from his bag and looks to Rizza "We're gonna need to bring in those rocks for the scientists. By the Gloom's erratic evolution they seem to be a defective strain of Sun Stone. Knowing the R&D they'll probably want to find some way to utilize it" After explaining Sableye uses his Dark Pulse attack on the group of gloom, making half of them flinch and ticking off the other half. As they charge to attack Weavile's claw necklace starts to glow causing his reflexes to sharpen greatly. He then blasts all of them with an Avalanche attack effectively causing all of them to faint. As they fall onto the frosty ground Novick tosses the Great Ball at the Gloom that evolved and catches it, then focuses his attention on the fighting Bellossom and Vileplume "Sableye know's Confuse Ray" He says to Rizza "Just to be safe, lets take care of this group before collecting the rocks. You can even catch one to give your team a little edge if you want" After explaining his plan, Weavile and Sableye focus on the fighting group as well, just as they noticed the group of fainted Gloom. In retaliation, they break the concentration they had on each other and focus it on Novick and Rizza "If you were gonna put anyone to sleep, I would do it now. Crobat! Uturn on Bellossom!" With swiftness, Crobat dives into one of the Bellossom's and barrels back to Novick, awaiting another command

The Queen considered the ball in her hand, tossing it a little while she considered their options. " I believe that if we wished to gain the best observational point to watch our chosen partners, the Lake of Rage would be an excellent starting point with wide open banks and still water. Magikarp are plentiful and make good targets for young Pokemon to test their abilities. If a Gyarados should approach, I still have the rest of my team to protect us."
She clipped the new ball onto her corselet, taking care to keep it separate from her other Pokemon. " We should avoid as much danger as possible. Keep out of the tall grass until we reach the Lake. If you have some sort of fishing tackle, I would bring it. Otherwise, I think there is a small stall there that allows the rental of fishing equipment." Beckoning to her new protege, she tromped out of the Lab.

Drew followed the Queen out of the lab and into the town square. He was glad to finally be out of the underground base. Despite the large spaces and the many rooms, Drew still felt that being underground the whole time was too similar to the old Team Rocket, always hiding behind secret doors so that no one could see the criminal acts that they were involved in. Hopefully it was just an irrational feeling he had and the new Team Rocket would be different.
Spotting the tall grass north of town, Drew fell in behind his mentor since she had the more powerful team with her at the moment. Thinking on that for a moment, Drew wondered just how powerful her team really was. "Her pokemon must be pretty powerful if more than just a few people refer to her as the 'Pokemonqueen'. Doubtful that I could win in a battle against her right now," he thought to himself.
Still, he was confident that he would be able to assemble a new team to rival any other member of Team Rocket given time. Charizard was his strongest and most likely would remain as such, but his new Totodile could show some real promise in battle. Drew scanned ahead, his hand covering his eyes from the early afternoon sunlight, and saw that he and the Queen were approaching the tall grass leading to the Lake of Rage. A battle against a Gyarados would be a great test for Drew's new pokemon and with the Queen's powerful team able to take over if the situation got out of hand, there really was nothing to worry about.
"Before we get to the lake I'll need to rent a fishing rod, but other than that I'm ready to follow you there," he said to his mentor as they reached the tall grass.

The Pokemon Queen nodded, quietly wandering through the grass, and then continuing on the bare patches of shorter grass that allowed safe passage to the Lake of Rage. She even nodded to the Team Rocket member that was happily scalping those who passed out of hard earned money--he let them pass without fuss, though. Within a fairly short amount of time they would find themselves at the glistening shores of the Lake of Rage.
She would wordlessly make her way to the small, wooden fishing hut, directing a finger at the sign 'Fishing Poles For Rent' . The Professor stood to the side of the house, looking over the gorgeous lakeside view. Her new Pokeball was nagging at her, pulling at her curiosity. Now was as good a time as ever. Without unclipping it from her armor, she simply pressed the button of the ball and released her newest acquisition to the air.
The blast of red light deposited a dark brown shell onto the grass. The coloration reminded the Pokemon Queen of hematite. A black stone that shone like chrome in light, but when scratched left brown-red traces. Bloodstone, some geologists affectionately called it. A branch with two small twigs emerged from inside the shell, and the shy Turtwig poked out its head, blinking sleepily in the sunlight.
The specimen was easily twice the size as a regular Turtwig... she wasn't entirely certain what the scientists had done, but the size and abnormal shell coloring were certainly two strikingly obvious indications that whatever their experiments were, they were changing their test subjects. Foolish lab rats. They would have noticed the irregularities immediately if they'd only leave the sterile confines of the laboratory and breathe fresh air for once . She knelt near the shy thing, scanning it with her Rocket Dex.

"Please, Ray, call me Scarab. I don't give my real name for a reason." James whispered urgently. "And though I am glad you know of me, I like to keep my professional relationships professional, no offense, I just like to keep business business, and if we get to be friends outside of here, fantastic."
He surveyed the surrounding area, calling on his longtime companion Scolipede to use it's sensitive antennae to see if it could detect any nearby movement, while Scizor and Volcarona patrolled to make sure they were alone. It wouldn't do to have any unwanted company at this stage of the operation. He'd brought his full arsenal of pokemon for this fight, after all, a legendary pokemon, like his Genesect, would not be easy to fight, let alone capture like the boss wanted. In fact, he'd brought his Galvantula instead of his Forretress on this battle, just so that he could have the added advantage of Paralyzing his prey if it wasn't Raikou.
Galvantula (level 79)- Choice Scarf 252 speed 252 sp. attack 4 sp. Defense Ability: Compound Eyes -Thunder Wave -Thunder -Bug Buzz -Hidden Power Ice
James continued to watch their surroundings, watching for trainers especially, since wild pokemon wouldn't be too much of a threat in this region.

Shade launched his hypnosis attack, but it didn't seem to have an effect on the Gloom. Taking a few more steps back, Rizza realized Novick had the Gloom problem under control. Within minutes, he had defeated the whole group of them.
"Just to be safe, lets take care of this group before collecting the rocks. You can even catch one to give your team a little edge if you want"
She nodded in agreeance, glancing over to Shade and Kiva, who were still on standby. With Novick focused on the Bellossom, for the most part, she decided to take on a Vileplume. “Kiva ember. Shade use hypnosis afterwards.” She ordered as a Vileplume charged towards her. The Houndour let out a small bark before blowing large red flames at the plant. The flames engulfed the Vileplume for a moment before slowly fading. When the flames had subsided a bit, Shade used hypnosis again, this time putting the Pokemon to sleep. Rizza smiled as she moved her bag and got a Greatball out and tossed it at the sleeping and injured Pokemon. The ball rolled twice then went still. Running over, Rizza grabbed it and moved her attention on the other Vileplume. “Kiva, keep using ember. Shade, use night shade on them. Focus both your attacks on one” She finished, watching as the two went to battle. Kiva blew embers on one, then moved his attention to another that was charging him.
With the situation under control for the most part, Rizza looked over at Novick. “Sir, maybe would should call the scientist or someone to come look at the stones.” She stated, though since she was new, she didn't know who to call.

As Rizza and her team started their attack on the Vileplume, Novick points at the Bellossom and gives his next order "Sableye! Weavile! Same routine! Go!" With that Sableye sends out another wave of dark thoughts using his Dark Pulse attack, weakening the Bellossom. Brought to the brink of fainting, Weavile devastates the group with another Avalanche, this time burying them in snow as they lay on the group unconscious. Novick glares down at Weavile, who seemed to have gone a little overboard "Jeez... Didn't need to go that far" Weavile looks up at Novick and sticks his tongue out at him again "Yeah... Was expecting that"
Novick looks to Rizza as she gives her suggestion and nods "Yeah, sounds like a good idea" He then looks to Crobat and points to Rizza "Give her pokemon a hand if they get into trouble" As directed, Crobat zooms between Rizza and her pokemon, waiting to help if they needed it. Novick reaches into his bag and pulls out a communicator with a small screen "Lets see... I think she's with the R&D" He selects the contact 'Queen' and waits for an answer, hoping she'd be available to lend her support

Drew's mentor pointed to the small fishing hut along the beach where he could rent a fishing rod to pull in some Magikarp and hopefully, a Gyarados.
"I'll be right back, Professor" he said to the Pokemonqueen as he walked toward the rental shop.
A bell chimed as he entered the small wooden store and he was instantly greeted by an older man wearing the garb of a local fisherman.
"Welcome son, here to catch some fish at the lake?"
"Yes sir, but I'll need to rent a fishing rod first. What do you have to offer?"
The old man ducked underneath a counter and began to sift through some fishing supplies until he brought out a spread of different fishing rods.
"You can choose from any of these that I have here, although some are more suited for the advanced fishermen."
Drew looked over the selection that the old man had pulled out from under the counter. He really had no idea which pole to pick since he knew little to nothing about fishing for pokemon.
The old man seemed to notice Drew's perplexion.
"Maybe you should start with just this rod here if your new to fishing," the old man picked up a pole and handed it to Drew, "we call this one an 'Old Rod' and it's mainly used for only catching Magikarp."
Drew figured that he would only be catching Magikarp but he still hoped for an encounter with a Gyarados. He handed the pole back to the old man and said, "Thank you but I'm aiming for a Gyarados today." The old man grinned and gave a slight chuckle. "Well I sure hope you brought some powerful pokemon with you because the Gyarados here are referred to as the strongest in all of Johto," the old man put several of the fishing rods away until there was one left. "This here is a pole that we like to call a 'Super Rod'. This is what you want for catching Gyarados," he said while handing it to Drew.
Drew looked it over and nodded in understanding. "Thanks old man, how much do I ow you?" "Oh there's no need for payment. I'm rather curious to see if a new fisherman like yourself can truly catch a Gyarados and survive the ordeal. If you manage to pull it off, there won't be a charge," the old man said still chuckling. Drew left the fishing hut to go find the Queen, while noticing that the old man had followed him outside and set up a chair next to the lake. He jogged over to the Queen, fishing rod in hand, and noticed a pokemon next to his mentor.
"Is that you're new pokemon, Professor?"
