Ladies, Gentlemen, and Other of Team Rocket Go... it is time.
Prepare for trouble! And make it... Doubles!?
Wow damn that music's actually pretty good.
To provide your week with entertainment!
The kind that won't end in arraignment!
To break the boring Singles meta!
To reward cheese strats like Rain and Feta!
Sunday!
Doubles!
You'll learn to love them at the speed of light!
Surrender never; finish the fight!
The mood's just right!
So here's what I was thinking; once a week, at a regular time, we'll get together and do some wildly unstructured doubles. It doesn't need to be a tournament, it doesn't need to have prizes; in fact I think those things would detract from the idea. It'd just be a bunch of folks kicking back, hanging out, and having a good time. Knowing how to construct a good Doubles team isn't necessary; just throw something together! Goof off. Do something really awesome that shouldn't ever work, but maybe just this once...
Remember the master Double Battlers of Team Rocket's youth!
And hey, if you want to learn, I'm happy to share what I know and I'm sure there's at least a few others who are as well.
If you guys are interested, there's still a few things we need to hash out.
1. Time: I suggested Sundays just because I'm usually free Sunday afternoons and it had a good ring to it; in reality I'm open to whenever is most convenient for most people. If there's enough interested but the times don't line up, doing two groups wouldn't be the end of the world.
2. Place: "Silly Brode, this contest will clearly take place on THE INTERNET". Yes thank you; however we should figure out which protocol we want to use to talk to each other; because water barrel talk is half the fun of something like this. I'd think something like Facebook chat would be convenient, or maybe we could get an IRC channel or a chat plugin for this site. I also have Skype personally, but that can get weird real fast.
3. Rules?: Rule 1: Don't be a bleep. Rule 2: Follow Rule 1. Realistically I'm good to leave rules more or less unsettled for something like this, because there's no mandatory battling and no prizes to win. If you use an unsporting team, people aren't going to want to play you; that's just what you get. But it's probably a good idea to lay out some guidelines, which I--being a very lazy Grunt--would prefer to just crowd source.
So what do you guys think? Are you down? Are you up? Do you not know the difference between those states in this context? I'm right there with you. I hope folks feeling tentative will go ahead and give it a try once we have practicality ironed out. I want to hear what's on your mind, especially if it starts with "I want to participate, but..." Only through identifying problems can we solve them. With that, I'll open the floor to questions, comments, and open harassment. Let's bring this to life!

You don't need to dress up, but you can if you like.
