What would gym trainers be here? Gym leaders/ trainers would be people who hold positions as gym leaders, but also recruit others, train newbies who wish to possibly become gym leaders, experts on specific types, and could even do field work for specific types of Pokemon. There are a lot of possibilities and if you have something specific in mind, I would love to hear it.

Following up on that question I want to know specifically about the level of pokemon we would carry. That's what I actually meant haha Ah ok, sorry. Honestly, for a gym trainer it could be any, depending on the gym leader's Pokemon level. Or, if you are out and about (not in the gym), it could be any level you are wanting. If you are a new member, in-training under the gym, I think anywhere from 10 to 40. That way you have room to grow as a newer trainer in the gym, since that would probably be your focus for the character. It really just depends on how you want to play the character, but I would like you to leave room for the character and their Pokemon to grow within the story.

I am a Gym Trainer for TRG and was thinking about doing something similar only that my character is unsure of the decision he has made and so also behaves as a standard trainer, collecting gym badges and training his pokemon. Since this is the case, my character already has made it through several regions earning gym badges along the way so is knowledgeable about pokemon but builds a new team after leaving each region to build new bonds with more pokemon and thus learn more about himself and others in the process (to decide what he will do in the future). My question then is, is it okay if I have one pokemon that is a higher level than all others such like Ash with Pikachu in the show? It would be my starter pokemon

While on the subject of gyms I'm kinda curious on how that works. Like is it like the manga where certain gyms are evil and we have control of them or do certain bases around the region in play operate as a battle spot type place where its hush hush thats its Team Rocket.

Your character has a reason (a great one at that) for it, and it is perfectly acceptable! I love characters who have a little history to them and is starting out somewhere new. I think it is a lovely idea and would love to have your character here! The only thing I ask is not to be kinda op like Pikachu sometimes is in the show. That's all.

Like is it like the manga where certain gyms are evil and we have control of them or do certain bases around the region in play operate as a battle spot type place where its hush hush thats its Team Rocket. Excellent question! I unfortunately haven't read the manga, but I have this idea that most the gyms would be kinda hush hush about being Team Rocket, if the leader so chooses. I also had an idea that there could be specific gyms that only Rocket members could challenge. Like there are regional gyms, but then there are also Team Rocket gyms for the members to battle. That is just an idea though.

Food for thought. In the manga gyms like Sabrina's or Koga's were apart of some evil group affiliated with the Elite Four, and gyms like Misty and Brock would be the counter riotous group working with the police. If a connection hasn't been established between the gyms we control, Giovanni buying certain gyms out would be believable.

Any chance you know which series that was (cause I think there are a few)? I would love to read it! I like the idea of that! We might make that a thing, if anyone is interested in it. I personally am playing a grunt, but if there was a gym leader or anyone else that would like to do that, I'm game! Thanks for the info and ideas.

Known for its realistic take on Pokemon battling and awesome arch's. I've only read up to the end of Yellows' chapters but the manga is long standing and I believe its up to Black and White. Definitely worth checking out

I am hoping for a few more grunts, even if we don't have too many other higher rank people. I feel like I might need to change the opening, if my character is the only grunt lol

I was thinking that this roleplay could take place after the events of Soulsilver and Heartgold where Team Rocket largely disbands after Giovanni finally calls them. However, in the arc the mantle of Rocket leader could be up for grabs and so multiple factions of Team Rocket are fighting for control: those who steal pokemon like the old group and those who seek to use the group for its resources to help others and pokemon. Eventually Giovanni or another admin will come back and resume leadership to stop the faction battles and to change the group to whatever side is more popular. I do think the rest of the "world" should be oblivious to the fact that Team Rocket is leading some gyms and battle spots whether they are good or bad, at least until the "leader" steps up. There definitely could be some rumors though that Team Rocket has been appearing more active as of late...

There definitely could be some rumors though that Team Rocket has been appearing more active as of late... Alright, I personally like the sound of that. I feel like it's adding a bit more to the story from the get go. I already planned to have the story take place after the events of SS / HG. As to the world being oblivious to the gyms, I think it is possible, but for some it might be unlikely for some leaders. I mean, you have some that would be all proud of it and wouldn't be able to keep it a secret. While others, it would be a rumor but there would be no proof. I think it will be up to the people who play the role of a gym leader.
So finally, I think all we need to figure out is the equipment. Here is what I thought as a basic equipment that every member would have (high ranks would have more): 5x Pokeballs / 5x Greatballs 5x Super Potions (newbies get regular potions; higher rank get higher potions) 5x Net balls (not for catching Pokemon; balls that explode a large net) Rope Compact camping stuff Cellphone Pokedex Labtop (for agents, scientist, and others who might need one) Honestly guys, I'm not too sure what else needs to be added. Anyone have any ideas? I just don't want everyone having a billion items to carry when you only have pockets or a small bag lol Feel free to add to this.
I'm going to give it 2 more days for sign ups and such before getting everything re-organized and getting ready to start the roleplay. If it works for everyone else, we might be starting Sunday or Monday.

That all looks fine. If I were to add anything else it would probably be a wand, a taser of a blackjack for close encounters

So are we going with a more realistic take on the story? Such as what happens in Pokemon Origins with Red and his team, as in there really is danger in the world
