In my experience with forums over the past decade, there was always a thread, board, forum, something for user introductions. We loved them; it gave people an outlet to introduce themselves on their own, rather than inserting themselves into random conversations or, worse, feeling isolated and alone, and staying out of all conversations because of it. Should the admins choose to open a board, then we can migrate there, but for now let's use a thread to introduce ourselves! Post absolute anything you're comfortable with; we don't need your life story. Maybe your name, or your code name, user name, whatever you wish to be called, and what got you into the group! Or even just a name! Or more? It doesn't matter, go nuts! I'll even get the ball rolling.
My given name is Ian La Charite. User names include Repede and Wolfie, depending on where you find me. I am a veteran of Pokemon, having played every single franchise release since Red and Blue (excluding Pokepark, never got a chance to try that one.) I've enjoyed every iteration of the flagship franchise with the exception of the first installments of Black and White; I liked the new Pokemon added, but thought the region was surprisingly boring. Gen three was my favourite, Emerald in particular; I have yet to find something in the Pokemon franchise I enjoyed quite as much as Emerald's Battle Frontier. Outside of Emerald, though, my heart belongs with Explorers of the Sky, of the mystery dungeon side series.
As far as a battler goes, I'm terrible at it. Not gonna lie. My "battling" experience was always about attack, attack, attack, which basically means I'm terrible. I'm working on EV training a UU/OU team as we speak, though, that I'm hoping to use to further my knowledge of the competitive scene. Hopefully it'll turn me into a competent TRG Grunt! No rattatas and zubats for me!
If there's ever something I can help with, in game, out of game, related or not related to TRG, please don't hesitate to call on me! I want TRG to become an organization we can all be proud of, one we can all call a second home. I want the team to feel as comfortable with one another as you would with your coworkers, or friends from college. This and more can be yours! It's all gotta start somewhere, though, so let's get started!
