I'm more creating this to try to stir up some activity, so let's get a discussion going!
I am a grunt. A simple grunt. A lowly grunt. But I am a retail grunt, and it is with this I plan to set up my persona.
My outfit is going to be plain, for now at least. A black shirt with the TRG logo on the front, and an advertising slogan on the back, to get people to come talk to me at conventions! My cap is a black Greek Fisherman's cap. Gloves and boots have yet to be decided, so if you have any good suggestions there, I'm all ears.
What will set me apart is my magical bag of tricks that shall accompany me to every con. With my custom shirt order, I included a trio of tote bags, a plain beige color with the TRG Oregon logo on the side. Within will be, at some point, anything your heart desires! ...okay, a bit of an exaggeration. But I will carry with me business cards, brochures, flyers, all sorts of stuff to tell the world about our mission objective. On top of this, I plan on ordering some give-away merchandise, be it shirts, buttons, etc, that I can just hand out to random folks who inquire about the group. Anything to spread the word of TRG! This brings up my second lacking feature; what kind of swag should I be ordering? What would you be happy to receive as a freebie from someone walking a con? What would convince YOU to consider looking into the organization, to find yourself a new home?
The third hurdle is my personality itself. I don't want to be overly aggressive; I don't want to be in people's faces, walking up to every stranger talking about our group. People don't want that, and I don't want to enforce that. However, sitting on the sidelines doing nothing might not accomplish anything at all. So, how would you define a happy medium? What is the best way to be a public marketing figure without becoming obnoxious? I am open to any and all input on this one. I haven't been to a lot of conventions, so I'm not sure how I should best conduct myself in the name of and interests of Team Rocket GO!
