Welcome, ladies and gentlemen! I know you missed us, but we're back! The Rocket Game Corner has returned from the brink of bankruptcy! That's right, bankruptcy! We were just giving you all way too much money last time, but don't worry! Our coffers are stocked, and the dice are ready to roll once again! And boy, do we have a show for you this time around!
Allow me, Repede, your lovable master of ceremonies, to introduce you to your new Game Corner!
First off, I present to you the return of a Game Corner classic, Voltorb Flip! We've changed the mechanics of the game a little bit, to increase chances for you, the player, to win! The house doesn't need all these wonderful prizes, and Voltorb Flip's redesign comes in to fix this! You'll remember the classic card contest as a comparable concoction as the ever-loved PC title, Minesweeper. Cards had multipliers that would ramp up your winnings, or Voltorbs that would blow your chances of victory away! Well, many of our gamers in days yonder told us they thought this was an unfair setup. It was too likely, they said, that they would flip a Voltorb. Why should they spend their hard earned cash on a crap-chute? This isn't craps, it's Voltorb Flip! So I thought, why not "flip" the proverbial tables, and make the Voltorbs the goal! Our new iteration of Voltorb Flip features far fewer of your favourite little pokeball imitators, and turns them into an instant win! Your multiplier cards still sit amongst the Voltorbs, but they now represent a goal, a target score that will determine your success! The idea? You have 10 flips, on a 25 card deck, to score as high as 20 points. If you can top 20, or you flip the mystical Voltorb, you're a winner! That's all it takes! And now, you're probably asking how much I'm going to charge you to get in on this wonderful new game? The answer is simple; NOT A DIME! I don't want your money, I want your friendship! This is a new Team Rocket, you must understand! There are no tricks at play here! Just come on in, and take my money!
Now, we all know what happened the last time we tried our hand running the Voltorb Flip setups in our Celadon and Goldenrod Game Corners; people longed for something more. The game is fun, we all know it, but what kind of Game Corner only has one game? Well, certainly not ours! We learned our lesson, believe you me! And now, it is my proud honor to introduce our newest game, one never before seen on the shores of this or any other land! I speak, of course, of Fantasy Pokemon! We've all grown to love and respect our beloved Pokemon over the years, have we not? I could go on for hours, telling you fantastic tales of love, heartbreak, and tragedy, followed by triumph, victory, and pure elation that I have experienced alongside my beloved Arcanine. But alas, that is not why we're here! Fantasy Pokemon is for the Pokemon Trainers out there who want to feel the success of victory from a hard fought battle, without putting their closest friends in harms way! This game could not be simpler! Our initial variation (which I concede, may suffer from a few drawbacks, and will be modified once we've seen it in practice) has the player pick a number! That's right, you pick a number! That's it! The number represents how many Pokemon, if any, you believe a trainer will lose before he can manage to defeat our Gym Leader! If you think the trainer will ace our leader, and clear his team without a single loss, you put 0! Then, throughout the day's battling, we will keep a tally of the losses on the winning side any time our leader suffers a defeat! The game will feature a tiered prize system, something to the effect of 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, etc, with each spot-on win gaining you 2 points, and each one-point-off win gaining you 1. It's a simple way to win, for free! All that we ask is that you enter your number before the night's battling begins! We can't have anyone cheating, now, can we?
Now, we all know what happened in the past. We all know the story of Team Rocket's brutish days of old, the days that before our glorious chief Giovanni managed to expel the executives pulling all the strings, and put our team back on the path to righteousness! I'm sure you all have heard the tales of the comedic Jesse and James, a duo of Rocket grunts whom, honestly, had no idea what they were doing. Well, we've decided to make a game to honor them! While their efforts were comical, and Team Rocket's goals of old were atrocious, one had to respect their heart and soul, and the energy they put in to everything they did! It is on that note that I am happy to announce "Prepare for Trouble!" This game resembles one you can find in many lesser, money-hungry casinos. They like to call it "Black-Jack". Prepare for Trouble is nothing short of a revolution of the old Blackjack idea, however! The game plays the same; you are dealt two cards, and you are given the option to "Hit" or "Stay". The idea is to get your cards to add-up to a total of 21, with ace being either 1 or 11. When you win, though, is when Prepare for Trouble gets interesting, for it is only with success, that you can "Make it double!" Should you choose to make it double, you will be dealt a random card from a newly-shuffled deck. You can then guess High or Low! If the next card the dealer flips is as you suggested, you double your points and get to try again! You can do this three times before the hand is reset. Unfortunately, folks, with Prepare for Trouble, we're going to have to limit how much you win to a staunch 30 points! That's still a lot, so you better get ready! Remember, the key to Prepare for Trouble is to simply Make it Double!
The last signature event I would like to introduce you to, but certainly not least, is one I personally have spent eons longing for. An event that I cannot praise enough! I speak of what I, the game's creator, affectionately refer to as "Running Wild!". The game is a simple matter of trying to guess the winner! I will have a ramp, a simple wooden mechanism of approximately 10 feet or so. On this ramp, I will have 5 tracks, each perfectly sanded, smooth as the ice on a frozen lake. There will be ten cars, all identical in physical design, but each painted to appear as one of your favourite, speedy Pokemon! Each of these cars will feature small holes drilled inside an accessible cockpit that you, the players, shall not have access to! With the help of my lovely volunteers, we will discreetly change the weight of each vehicle using small metal orbs, to give one an edge! It'll be your job to guess the outcome! 4 points will be awarded to those who guess the 1st place winner, 3 to 2nd, 2 to 3rd, and 1 as a consolation prize to anyone else who participated. Feel free to wager your guesses as many times as you'd like, for there are no limits on how many times you can win Running Wild! Just know that we will collect your guesses in a five-heat system; I.E., you will right down your guesses for five races at once, turn them in, and we will then run five races, back to back, and tally up the winners! It's an easy way to get your hands on some wonderful prizes, while cheering on your favourite speedster!
Now, let's talk about prizes! That's what you're here for, right?! You wouldn't play if you didn't want to win! Well, our new Game Corner prize system is far better than the days of old, when you would be forced to spend days, weeks, or absurd amounts of money just to get an Abra! We aren't doing that to you again! Our new prize system is a simple, tiered system. 100 points is cap, and only by scoring 100 points in the course of an entire day can you claim the top prize. Various other prizes will be handed out to all players who can reach 75, 50, 25, 10, and a consolation for everyone else! We haven't quite decided on the prizes yet, as we don't really know what will be available when I finally cut the ribbon to open the Game Corner up, but I assure you, it'll be worth your while! Each and every one of you will be taken care of! Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY will leave any Team Rocket Game Corner empty-handed!
Are you feeling overwhelmed? I know I am! It has been many, many years since our Game Corners have been up and running! But you know, something just...leaves me longing for more. I feel like I can do more for you, more for myself, more for everyone involved!
Hmm...
I've got it! No longer shall Celandon City and Goldenrod City be the only homes of our fabulous games! No more shall you be forced to traverse an entire continent, just to get some time to unwind! Our new Game Corner program shall be made available at EVERY ROCKET GYM LOCATION! All of them! Where-ever you find a Rocket, you'll find a Game Corner! Now, it's entirely possible one of our games might be absent given our Gym Leader's ability to track down the necessary equipment, but we'll always be there in some form! So please, please, PLEASE, come and see us! Come and win! Take our prizes! I know I'll be at the Grand Opening of the Oregon Rocket Gym (location pending), there to shake your hand, and tell you all about my fabulous new Game Corner! And of course, I'm always open to questions and suggestions! I want my Game Corners to be something we, as Pokemon lovers, can be proud of! Something all Team Rocket members will love, and something all players will cherish. I strive to run a business that will not just reward you for enjoying yourself, but provide you with some of the greatest memories you'll ever experience. So keep us in mind the next time you're taking the Gym Leader challenge, and remember; maybe you'll be the next big winner to blast off again, only at the Team Rocket Game Corner!
